April 7 - Fysica symposium 2017

Posted on 14 Mar 2017

Friday April 7 the NNV organises its yearly Fysica symposium. This year the symposium will take place in Groningen at De Oosterpoort. At Fysica you will have the chance to listen to talks by well known scientists including professor Bart van Wees and the recent Nobelprize winner, professor Ben Feringa.

Apart from these plenary lectures there will be parallel sessions in the afternoon. The topics of these parallel sessions range from Cosmology to Health. Specifically aimed at students there will be a Student Session, organised by the student organisations. The aim of this session is to give physics students an idea of the broad range of career possibilities to choose from after graduation. Philips, TenneT, KPMG and TMC will give a talk to give you an idea why a physics graduate is interesting for the company.

More information on the speakers, the parallel sessions and the general programme can be found on the website of Fysica.

It is possible to sign up for this symposium via T.F.V. 'Professor Francken' or the Fysica website. However subscription via the Francken can be done for a reduced prize of only €10,-. Subscription lists can be found at the Francken room. Note: to subscribe you have to be (or become) a NNV member. The subscription via Francken closes March 20 at 16:00 o'clock.
