During the O-ALV of 4 June 2014, long time active member dr.ir. Gert Eising was voted into the status of Member of Merit for his contributions to the association.

Gert's effort has brought T.F.V. 'Professor Francken' to new heights in the twenty-first century. A large part of the 'Francken experience' can be directly attributed to Gert. For example: Every student that comes along to have a snack between lectures uses technology built by Gert. Gert's many digital additions to the Franckenkamer have become a key part of the culture. Gert has put the 'real' in "Reëelste Borrelaar".

Aside from his technical gifts, Gert is an exemplary member of the association. He actively takes part in many of our activities, often as organizer, and embodies the spirit of combining physics with (other) pleasure(s).

The association and its board are pleased to honor Gert in this manner and are looking forward to having Gert around for many years to come.
