For the position of Trader Assistant we are looking for a student who is studying towards an academic degree, has a structured way of working, great communication skills and significant interest in financial markets. As a Trader Assistant you will not only assist the traders, but also act as the key link between our traders and our mid office department.

What you’ll do

As a Trader Assistant within Optiver you will be working in a highly competitive and fast changing environment. You will be the key link between our traders and our mid office department. Your daily tasks will exist of assisting the traders, data management, checking transactions/ subscriptions and importing data. Besides the daily tasks, you’re dedicated to critically monitor and improve our current processes and streamline where necessary.

Please note: For this junior trading role you’re only eligible to apply if you’re still a student for at least the next 9 months.

What you’ll need

• Academic Degree (at least 3rd year bachelor);
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with VBA ;
• Strong affinity with financial markets;
• A numbers-orientated character;
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills;
• The ability to work in an accurate and structured way in order to solve problems;
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
